I have had the opportunity to be a resident and mentor at Visual Arts Mississauga for their Prismatic BIPOC residency program.
The exhibition was open from Septemeber 20th - 29th 2024
My work at Union Station!
I have had the honour of being a part of MakeRoom and Union’s stations’ collaboration for their exhibit called Black Dreams and Aspirations sponsored by TD. In total 12 artists have been chosen for this installation divided into groups of 6. We were asked to make pieces highlighting what it means to dream while black. The collection was available for viewing during Black History Month until mid-May 2024.
The first installment which stars me alongside 5 other artists, Yaw Tony, Yomi Orimoloye, Sarah Waithe, Kahame Msiska, and Segun Caezar.

We scream and yell silently but our brothers and sisters die loudly. We fight in flowered fields ever so softly while gunshots, screams and cries can be heard just over the hills.
What does this mean to you? Are you doing enough to enforce the change we need to end the violence?
It is more than just police violence it is education, it is the media, it is the lack of representation, it is the governmental system, it is the people in power.
Would you sacrifice everything you have to see a better world? Would you stop buying all the brands that made you fight for a cause that is killing you?
So, hear me when I say we must unite and fight; the fight will never be over if we turn our backs on the fight for our freedom!
